Monday eve kayaking
A kayaking session with tuition on the river Thames.
4.45-7.30pm (you must arrive by the start time of the session)
Beginner and intermediate adults. Intermediate youth members
Every session is run under the supervision of at least one qualified instructor. If it is your first time here, you will be given a safety brief and then introduced to the instructor(s). A typical session includes tuition for all levels of ability, some fun and games and a short distance of paddling along the river.
Tuition will follow the British Canoe Union 1 and 2 star syllabuses and you'll be able to gain nationally recognised personal skill awards. You should achieve the BCU One Star award after approximately 5 evenings.
It is not necessary to come to every evening consecutively. The instructors will teach you from where you left off.
Sessions will include journeying with the tide so you shouldn't find it too taxing!
By booking and paying online in advance you are ensuring a space. There are also a number of places available to those who wish to just turn up. These places operate on a first-come-first-served basis (cash only if paying on the door).
Your space will only be reserved until the start of the safey brief at 6.20pm. If you arrive after this, we may have given your place away - so don't be late! No refund will be available for latecomers.
If you're not booking in advance, you will still need to REGISTER on this website before arrival.
No need for those with BC 1* and above to book.
£20 per session (no charge and no need to book with youth membership for 10-23yr olds and adult season tickets).
Please note: whether you book in advance or just turn up, you must arrive by 6.15pm or you may be turned away. It is not possible to join in once the session has started. We cannot refund latecomers.
