Round the Island yacht race

Round the Island Yacht Race

Organised by the Isle of Wight’s Island Sailing Club since 1931, the Round the Island Race is one of the UK’s largest participation sporting events and is expected to attract over 1,500 sailing boats. It will begin and end in Cowes, and, as in previous years, the race will be supporting The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust as the official race charity.

First Echelon Sailing is offering a two weekend combined programme of yacht sailing in the Solent for Westminster Boating Base's adult users, to include the "Round the Island" race on Saturday 29th June, onboard a North American 40 designed by Dick Carter, IRC class 3.

Westminster Boating Base's role in this is limited to processing bookings on behalf of First Echelon Sailing, which in turn will donate a portion of the programme fee to WBB. The training and race weekends will be delivered by First Echelon Sailing, which has sole responsibility in ensuring that the requisite legal, safety and compliance standards are in place and current, including all necessary liabilities insurance.
