RYA Yachtmaster Offshore / Coastal Skipper Theory Course
This course will take your theory knowledge to the standard required for the Yachtmaster™ Coastal and Yachtmaster™ Offshore practical exams. The course covers all aspects of navigation, meteorology, safety at sea, and seamanship. The course will be taught by and experienced and expert RYA Instructor.
Taught over 40 hours, the course features three exam papers: 1) International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS), 2) Chartwork, 3) Passage Making. As with the Day Skipper Shorebased course, the RYA’s specially designed chart plotter software will be used during the course to give you a realistic experience of modern electronic navigation.

There is homework commitment for this course. Please allow for around 3 hours per week

What will I need to bring?
It is important that you arrive promptly for the start times set out below. There is a required minimum of 40hrs of training and exams.
A shorebased theory course at our RYA Training Centre in Pimlico, with an RYA Instructor.
