Clothing

WBB will provide your boat and personal buoyancy but you will need to bring all your personal clothing including shoes to wear on the water. A windproof is always a good idea as even on a warm day, it is easy to get cold from windchill.

Winter clothing regulations

Clothing regulations apply through the winter from 1st November through to 31st March. You will be unable to participate if you are not appropriately dressed.

SAILING: A winter-weight wetsuit (5mm thickness on the body) or a drysuit plus other appropriate clothing including soft-soled shoes.

KAYAKING: 3 options

POWERBOATING: Appropriate thermal clothing with windproof & waterproof outer layers including footwear.

Clothing hire

Westminster Boating Base has a limited range of wetsuits, waterproof tops and trousers for sailing and kayaking during our winter season (1st Nov - 31st March). Hire charge is £5.00 per session.

You will still need to provide your own under garments, warm layers, shoes, hats, gloves, etc.

From April to October there are no clothing restrictions and each individual must provide their own - you will need to be appropriately dressed for the weather.
