How much does it cost?

FREE to all Westminster residents age 60 years and over from 1st September to end of December 2018.

The Octavia Foundation has funded residents from Octavia Westminster for free access from August to end of December 2018.

ONLY £5 to over 50s who do not qualify for the free access stated above.

You are most welcome to come along and see what goes on without going on the water. Join the group for a cup of tea to see your friends or make new friends, or just enjoy the tranquility of the river. You will not be charged.

There is a further charge for any RYA and or BC certificates gained.

What activities can I do?

We provide a programme of kayaking and powerboating. You will be able to go kayaking on one session and powerboating on the other assuming there is space.

Activities operate on a first-come-first-served basis but we try to accomodate as many as possible and it hasn't been too problematic so far!

For some it's as much about the social occasion as the watersports so come along, have a cuppa and a chat and see what goes on. Maybe you'll be persuaded to give the watersports a try, but do come and visit us.

How do I sign up?

  1. Register on this website which will provide us with your contact details.
  2. Print and sign this consent form to bring with you on the day.
  3. There is no booking required for the sessions. Just turn up at the advertised start time of the session.

Please note that if you are late, you may be turned away. Time and tide wait for no one!

You need to bring...

Nobody will be allowed on the water without the appropriate clothing!

Anything else?

The Upperdeckers group is funded by a variety of organisations. Unfortunately current funding has run out so we are charging a small amount for the sessions in the hope that we will find some more funding that will make it free once again.

We have to actively seek funding to keep these sessions going so if you would like to help us do that, please contact us.

Currently in winter season

The season begins on 01st April 2018. Kayaking and sailing continues throughout the winter on Sundays. Winter clothing regulations apply.
