How to donate

Thank you for considering Westminster Boating Base (charity no. 299412) for a donation.

Westminster Boating Base (WBB) is a charity for young people offering sailing, kayaking and powerboating on the Thames in central London. Our facilities and team of dynamic, dedicated staff provide a year-round programme for young people, including school groups, from the local Borough and further afield. We have been running since 1975.

We generate our revenue through a combination of watersports activities for adults and schools, venue hire of our riverside premises, and grants received from continuous fundraising efforts.

Boating of all types is a costly activity and in order to make it available to all as inexpensively as possible, we welcome your donation to the charity.

Leave a legacy

Please remember us in your Will

Your loved ones should and must come first but a gift in your will to the Westminster Boating Base will deliver an enduring benefit. You will be helping to make a real difference to the lives of young people. You will be supporting the ongoing work of the Base to develop the life skills of generations of children, including those of greatest need, and our engagement with people of all ages in the community.  Your gift will make a lasting impact and it is a wonderful way to support a favourite charity.

If you have not yet made a will then it is important to speak first to an expert to ensure your wishes are clear. We recommend that you contact a solicitor. If you have made a will and want to make some simple changes, such as including a charitable gift to the Westminster Boating Base, then you can complete a standard form (a codicil) which is then pinned to your will. Simply tell your solicitor our name, address and charity number (299412) and they will do the rest.

A legacy gift can be large or small and is tax-free. It can be a sum of money, an object of value or the residue of your estate after all other bequests and expenses have been disbursed.

Please let us know.

Thank you very much if you are intending to or have chosen to leave a gift in your will to the Westminster Boating Base. It would be most helpful if you would let us know.  By doing so you give us a great opportunity to make important plans for the future to help us continue our good work. We would also like to keep you up to date with our activities and illustrate how your generosity will be remembered though the achievements of those we have supported and trained.

Please drop us a line to let us know your intentions.
